Instructor

Patrick Fudally

Patrick Fudally is the founder and primary instructor of Northwest Crisis Training, LLC. He brings 19 years of law enforcement experience, over 15 years of teaching and instruction, and a background that spans private security, military service, and crisis intervention. This combination provides the foundation for building a training program built on real-world application rather than theory.

Background

Patrick began his career in private security while earning his criminal justice degree, then served five years in the United States Marine Corps, including a deployment to Iraq. After his service he worked hospital security, where he developed practical verbal de-escalation skills managing patients and families in crisis, long before formal training programs existed for that kind of work.

He entered law enforcement in late 2006, at a time when Crisis Intervention Training was just beginning to take hold. Recognizing a gap between what officers were taught at the academy and what they actually encountered in the field, he sought out a full 40-hour CIT course at his own initiative. That course introduced him to Ellis Amdur and Edgework Methodology, an approach whose simplicity and effectiveness resonated immediately.

In 2012 Patrick became the first CIT instructor in his department’s history, building a program that far exceeds state mandates. In 2015 he collaborated with local fire and EMS to develop a joint response protocol for individuals in extreme crisis. In 2021 he earned his formal certification in Edgework Methodology.

By 2020 Patrick recognized a wider need. Organizations across industries were asking staff to de-escalate volatile situations without giving them the tools to do it safely. Northwest Crisis Training was his answer to that gap.
